Jose Berrios was cruising on Sunday. The Minnesota Twins' 23-year-old starting pitcher had a 1-hit shutout going into the bottom of the 9th inning, looking for his first-ever career shutout. Things started well for Berrios in the 9th, as he induced an infield pop-up for the 1st out of the inning.
That's when Baltimore catcher Chance Sisco came to the plate. The left-handed hitting Cisco, who had the Orioles only hit off Berrios to that point, came to the plate with the Twins infield shifting over so that no person was near the 3rd-base bag. Cisco laid down a bunt that rolled for a hit and Berrios appeared to be agitated at the play. After that Berrios issued his only walk of the game and gave up a single to load the bases. Berrios worked his way out of the jam, getting a pop-up and a strike out to preserve the shutout.
Berrios wasn't the only Twins player that felt that Sisco should not have bunted in that situation. Rhett Bollinger, who is the Minnesota Twins beat writer for mlb.com, asked Dozier his thoughts you can find here
